Proper Planning: the key to a Successful Campaign
Prior to launching a multi-million dollar capital campaign, the Aldo Leopold Foundation asked McDonald Schaefer Group (MSG) to conduct a feasibility study.  The study revealed a wealth of information, including strengths and weaknesses that directly impacted the potential of a successful campaign.  Although $5 million was tested, the study concluded only $1 – 3 million could be raised under current conditions.

Based on the information gathered from the feasibility study, MSG recommended postponing the campaign and beginning a period of concentrated strategic planning and campaign preparation.  With guidance from MSG, the Foundation clarified its mission, retooled its campaign objectives, strengthened its board leadership and began engaging its major donor prospects.

After almost two years of planning, the foundation was properly positioned and launched the campaign.  MSG has managed the campaign and today, the foundation has nearly reached its $7.75 million campaign goal!   For more information on the Aldo Leopold Foundation, go to www.aldoleopold.org.
