| When McDonald Schaefer Group was asked to manage a multi-million dollar capital campaign for a well-established organization that serves people with disabilities, we first assessed the organization’s overall potential to attract major gift support. Our assessment revealed that although the 100 year-old organization was highly respected, its future direction was unclear.
Concerned that donors would also perceive the future direction of the organization as too vague and uncertain, we recommended that the client undertake a concentrated visioning process that would complement its on-going strategic planning and lead to a clear and exciting vision.
McDonald Schaefer Group designed and implemented a visioning process by assembling key participants that represented a cross section of all major stakeholder interests, setting the agenda to address the organization’s fundamental visioning issues, and actively facilitating several sessions that ultimately led to a compelling vision that is well reasoned and clearly conveys the organization’s future. The results have inspired constituents, including donors, to support the organization and help it fully realize the new vision.
